? Your room is beautifully decorated, creating a mood of calm and luxury. In the evening, perfectly chilled wine awaits you on the simple but nicely furnished porch, where you can watch the sunset as you gently rocking in the rocking chair that hundreds of other happy couples have shared.
? Well, this idyllic picture really does not exist, but is in no way guaranteed. If you are unlucky, the bed and breakfast reserves of hundreds of miles away will prove to be a wreck poorly furnished – freezing and wet in winter and stifling hot in summer – with the owners rude made miserable by the daily toil of relentless customer service dissatisfied.
? To avoid this unfortunate scenario, here are some questions to ask before you book, to enjoy a beautiful bed and breakfast escape.
? – Where is the bed & breakfast is located?
? While they may be found almost anywhere, from a building occupied New York to an isolated cabin in Montana, bed and breakfasts are in smaller towns, which are very popular among tourists. Prefer to stay in the city center, close to restaurants, galleries, shops and other attractions? Remember though, that even small cities can be very busy during the night, particularly those that rely on tourism to fill their restaurants, bars, shops and cafes. A bed and breakfast on Main Street might be too noisy for your tastes.
? Perhaps you prefer to be on the outskirts of town where you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the city life. The downside of this, however, is that a position some distance from the city can be a drawback if you have a car with you.
